Therefore he is able to save completely [forever] those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25

"When sin distorts God’s plan for families, it is easier to portray the negative examples than it is to find the positive ones. Popular culture likes to reflect on dysfunctional fathers and perpetuate the low opinions society tends to have of them. Contemporary television in particular has not been overly kind to dads. Put upon, hen-pecked, and downright ineffective father characters have been a TV staple. Through the years we’ve laughed at the antics of Archie Bunker, Al Bundy, Homer Simpson, and Raymond Barone, yet we could hardly call them a paragon of fatherhood. At best, many of these shows depict dads that are loveably clueless; at worst, many dads exhibit destructive behavior, the consequences of which can never truly be shown in a thirty-minute segment. The Cliff Huxtables, it seems, are few and far between. … Christians are often quick to speak up when pop culture transgresses the Christian worldview. We must be just as quick to speak up when culture supports it, even if that support is accidental. It is up to those of us who watch and love movies to support films that approach fatherhood from a Christian worldview perspective."

From Webopedia:Worm

(1) A program or algorithm that replicates itself over a computer network and usually performs malicious actions, such as using up the computer’s resources and possibly shutting the system down. Also see virus.

(2) When used in all capital letters, WORM is an acronym for write once, read many, an optical disk technology that allows you to write data onto a disk just once. After that, the data is permanent and can be read any number of times. Unlike CD-ROMs, there is no single standard for WORM disks, which means that they can only be read by the same type of drive that wrote them. This has hampered their acceptance, although they have found a niche market as an archival media.

WORM is also called CD-R.

“America’s founders, informed by their Christian understanding of the Fall, provided for a system of checks and balances so that no one branch of government would have power over the other. But today a minority in the Congress is holding hostage judges named to the court. This is a fundamental assault on an independent judiciary and, thus, a violation of the balance of powers.”

Prayer Request:

  • For our Kenya team as we prepares for our short-term missionary trip in June. For health, financial, spiritual issues as well as team building.
  • Pray for our government, especially those in the Senate and Congress as bickering abound and common sense seems to be lost in the rheoteric of todays political climate along with the facts.
  • Margi and Larry, who have significant issues of health, and for their family during this trial. (long term)
  • Tim and Debby, as Tim continues to struggle with his recovery, and for their family during this time of crisis. (long term)
  • That we as Christians keep the faith as we encounter what at times seems like an increasingly hostile world when it comes to Christianity.
  • Danny, a young man who recently made Eagle scout has stage one melanoma. Please keep him in prayer while he undergoes medical treatment (chemo/radiation). Also, please keep his family in prayer! (long term)
